Santa Monica, CA’s Minarc design firm was founded by Icelanders Erla Dögg and Tryggvi in 1999. Founded in 2010 by Landscape Architect & Project Manager Carrie Culp and Field Supervisor and Quality Control Manager Trevor Daley, the team now also includes Landscape Designer Cory Egan. The group is skilled in creating beautiful and enjoyable backyard landscapes as well as in constructing outdoor structures, kitchens, and fireplaces that expand the definition of outdoor living.

Designer Spotlight: Fagin Partners and the Passive House

Fagin Partners is one of the leading designers in Dallas with a passion for creating sustainable and stylish modern homes. The designers, Kyle and Connor Fagin, are a talented father-and-son team who are building the first International Passive House in Texas to reach the next level of efficiency. Their mission is to construct homes that are mindful of the environment while still achieving a modern aesthetic and long-term affordability for homeowners. Project Spotlight: Meadow Creak Residence by Arcanum Architecture, Inc.

Located in Woodside, CA on a large hidden lot at the end of the road, Meadow Creak Residence stops at a creek and densely wooded hillside. The site has a rural feel as the property stretches from north to south, allowing the main spaces to embrace its views. This 9,800 square foot home is designed by Arcanum Architecture, Inc., a San Francisco based design firm with a portfolio of modern styled homes. We spoke with Arcanum’s architects about the details of Meadow Creek Residence and what they were looking to achieve with this design.
