Founded in 2009 by Christopher Brandon, Brandon Architects is a leading architectural firm in the coastal Orange County area of Newport Beach. The firm has designed everything from high-end custom homes to luxury boutique hotels. Partner Ryan McDaniel is the Director of Design. A licensed architect, McDaniel has been with the firm since 2012. He is driven by the desire to develop more sustainable residential and non-residential buildings and has received national recognition for his work on single-family custom homes, multi-family, mixed-use, commercial, and hospitality projects.

Brandon Architects knows that each project is custom, with its own challenges and demands. The firm takes into consideration each project’s topography, social impact, and environmental conditions before drawing up initial concepts. Clients are involved throughout the entire process, with McDaniel and his team sharing their passion for architecture to ignite that same interest and delight in their clients. “We pride ourselves on being good listeners. We take inspiration from our clients and we cater our design process, our deliverables, around their experience. We want to make sure that every project is unique and delivers a custom home for our clients…and have a lot of fun along the way,” says McDaniel.

PESCADOR

The goal in redeveloping the property that would become Pescador was to increase the home’s view potential. The clients loved entertaining, so comfortable, large, uninterrupted spaces were prioritized. The home’s open floor plan is complemented by the use of large glass volumes throughout the design, with a floating concrete wall to maintain privacy from the street. Pescador’s impressive vantage points were incorporated into the outdoor areas, with view decks, an infinity pool, an outdoor kitchen, and multiple balconies. These outdoor living areas allowed the homeowners to accommodate more guests, with less crowding and easy cleanup in a stunning backyard setting. Flush mounted Infratech WD-Series heaters were essential to this space. They fit seamlessly into the design, allowing guests to enjoy the outdoor ambience without worrying about dropping temperatures or obstructed views.

Brandon Architects sees Infratech heaters as a design element that maximizes their designs for a home and its outdoor living area. The heaters are a key part in creating a one-of-a-kind design geared toward the clients’ lifestyle.
