We are so excited to have had the chance to speak with the firm’s founder, Cheryl Hamilton-Gray, about the design process for these spectacular California homes, and why the firm continues to specify Infratech heaters again and again. Take a look!
How would you describe your firm’s design aesthetic and style?
Hamilton-Gray creates spaces in multiple design genres capturing beauty, balance, and functionality in the details. While we design in many different styles from Traditional to Modern to Mid-Century, we ultimately strive to make our designs as timeless as possible no matter the style. We want our spaces to be beautiful in design, but also to be a true reflection of the needs and desires of our clients.
Where does your design inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from nature, architecture, and exploring the senses and desires of our clients. I often find design inspiration from architectural and cultural influences from around the world.
Why does your firm specify Infratech heaters for your outdoor designs?
In Southern California, outdoor living is just as important as indoor living. We use Infratech heaters for our outdoor designs because not only are they stylish, sleek, and modern in design, but they have the durability that is necessary for year-round use. We need heaters that can withstand continual use and the elements, such as salt air in homes near the ocean, which is why we choose Infratech.
What kind of outdoor space did the Modern Farmhouse homeowners want and how did Infratech come into play?
The owners of the Modern Farmhouse wanted an easy indoor/outdoor flow to a covered patio area for entertaining. We wanted to make their outdoor space functional for use year-round, so we knew we needed an outdoor heating option because although San Diego weather is lovely, it can be chilly in the winter. Infratech’s flush mount WD-Series fixtures were the perfect choice because the heaters blend effortlessly into the modern design of the space.
How did the aesthetic of our flush mount heaters come into play when designing the Contemporary Twist project?
For this project, the homeowners wanted to modernize their space in a contemporary style. We wanted to optimize their comfort in their new patio space, but didn’t want to distract from the beautiful design. We again used the flush mount WD-Series heaters for this space because the sleek, modern design was the perfect complement to the contemporary style of the home.
