We’re thrilled to announce that Infratech’s long-time collaborator Minarc’s stunning Zen House project was featured on America By Design! Episode 7 showcases this award-winning Manhattan Beach residence that perfectly embodies modern minimalist design and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Minarc’s Santa Monica-based architectural practice created this two-story home and ADU for a family of software developers, drawing inspiration from their travels to Bali, Indonesia. The design tackles the challenge of a busy street location with thoughtful privacy solutions while maximizing natural light and cross-ventilation throughout.
At the heart of the outdoor living experience, flush mount Infratech WD-Series heaters ensure year-round comfort on the open roof deck and pool area. The strategic placement allows the family to enjoy their outdoor spaces in any season while maintaining the home’s clean, minimalist aesthetic.
The Zen House earned multiple accolades including Season Winner, People’s Choice Award, IBM Empower Award, and Bright Award from America By Design. The project exemplifies how sustainable design—featuring Kebony modified lumber, radiant floor heating, and Minarc’s fire-resistant building system—can create a harmonious living environment that prioritizes the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
