The 2022 Sunset Idea House came to life at the hands of Malibu’s premier architectural firm Burdge Architects, with custom interiors by designer Marina Fernández de Córdova. After a Malibu family tragically lost their home in the Woolsey wildfire of 2018, the team was enlisted to help rebuild and modernize the property while maintaining its farmhouse roots. A transitional ranch-style family home was erected on the lot, designed to enhance the casual indoor-outdoor appeal of Malibu living with emphasis on a functional gathering space that features a passthrough window to the kitchen, ample room to relax or dine al fresco, and Infratech outdoor heaters for year-round comfort.

With a large outdoor living space to cover, Infratech heaters were the natural choice. We worked with Burdge’s President, Jennifer Hoppel and Director of Operations, Jeanette Tang to install two dual-element CD-Series fixtures in White, wall mounted to a custom-designed trellis that extends from the roof of the home. The subtle design and customizable color of the heaters means that they blend seamlessly with the design of the home, without ever having to sacrifice comfort or convenience.
